Privacy Policy
Last revised: September 2026
KuduGuide (“we”, “us”, “the Operator”) is an independent website that publishes guides to online courses and to public and government training programmes. We collect a limited amount of personal data from the people who visit. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and what rights you have. We apply it in line with the data protection laws that apply in your country of residence.
1. Data We Collect
We keep data collection to what is needed to run the site and to show advertising. The categories are:
- Usage data — collected automatically, such as pages visited, time on the site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser information.
- Trackers — cookies and similar technologies, used to run the site and to serve advertising (see section 4).
- Advertising identifiers — used by our advertising partner to show and measure ads.
- Email address — only when you choose to contact us by email.
Usage data and trackers are collected automatically when you visit. Your email address is only collected if you send it to us. You are not required to provide any personal data to read the site.
2. How and Where Data Is Processed
Methods of processing
We apply security measures designed to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of data. Beyond the Operator, data may be accessible to our hosting provider and to our advertising partner, acting as processors for the purposes described here.
Lawful basis
We process personal data where at least one of these applies: you have given consent (for advertising cookies); processing is necessary for our legitimate interest in running and securing the site; or processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
International transfers
Our hosting and advertising providers operate internationally, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own — including the United States. Where data crosses borders, we rely on the safeguards applied by those providers, such as standard contractual clauses. You may ask us about the basis for any transfer.
Retention
Personal data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as required by law, and is then deleted or anonymised. Advertising data is retained according to our advertising partner’s own retention rules.
3. Why We Process Data
We process your data to deliver our service (independent guides to online courses and public and government training programmes), to keep the site secure and working, to respond to enquiries you send us, to meet our legal obligations, and to display advertising that helps fund the site.
4. Services We Use
The site uses the following third-party services. Each is described so you know what it does and who runs it.
Hosting
- DigitalOcean, LLC — provides the server that runs the site. For operational and security purposes, server logs may record information such as your IP address.
Advertising
This site uses third-party advertising services. In particular:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites on the internet.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to KuduGuide and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third party’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
The advertising services on this site are:
- Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager (Google LLC) — display advertising banners on KuduGuide. These services use advertising cookies to select and measure ads, as described above.
- Google Funding Choices (Google LLC) — the consent tool that asks for and records your choices about advertising cookies before they are used.
We do not currently run web analytics, heat mapping, session recording, social-media pixels or remarketing on this site. If we add any such service in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
5. Children
KuduGuide is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the age at which they can give consent under the law that applies to them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your Rights
Subject to the data protection law that applies to you, you have the right to:
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Object to processing, particularly for direct marketing.
- Access your data and obtain a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Restrict processing.
- Delete your data, where there is no overriding legal reason to keep it.
- Request portability of your data, where technically feasible.
- Lodge a complaint with the data protection authority for your country of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in section 8. We answer within the timeframe required by the law that applies to you, and in any case within one month. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time and recommend checking this page from time to time. Where a change affects processing based on your consent, we will ask for consent again.
8. Contact
